Ellevio‘s set of regional pages on grid capacity, “Elnätskapacitet i regionnätsområde …”, of which three were read (Halland, Gävleborg, Bohuslän; pages updated 28 Aug 2026). Ellevio lists eight regional areas in total; the other five (Dalarna, Produktionskluster Norr, Skaraborg, Stockholm, Värmland/Närke) were not read. The pages are text and tables, not a map. Their connection-case tables (“Aktuellt anslutningsläge”, snapshot 2026-08-19) are script-built and were not captured.
Format
Each page gives, per regional area: a current-situation text (Nuläge), an overview of capacity and forecasts, a table of planned reinforcement projects by period, a table of current connection cases (counts per process step and total requested power, both injection and withdrawal, as a snapshot), and a summary assessment. The pages say they cover “available capacity, forecasts, ongoing connection cases and our assessment of future conditions”. Forecast horizons run to 2034 and the pages refer to Ellevio’s network development plan 2025-2034. A free “indication of connection possibility” request is offered for anyone who wants to know before applying formally. None of the three pages mentions the Swedish ordinance duty on capacity information or says the pages are Ellevio’s way of meeting it.
What the three pages say
- Halland. Capacity is varied. Smaller withdrawals tied to general community development can mostly be handled within existing capacity; larger connections are assessed individually. Indicative figures by sub-area: southern Gothenburg region, smaller withdrawals usually up to about 3 MW; central Halland, limited ability for both withdrawal and injection, about ±1 MW; southern Halland, larger connections must be coordinated between grid companies and depend on their annual capacity allocation. Ellevio is a regional-network customer of Vattenfall Eldistribution in Halland, and Vattenfall is Svenska kraftnät’s customer, so capacity depends on conditions at both upstream levels. Ellevio’s summary says some capacity limitations may remain after the planned measures, mainly in disturbance situations and expected to be handled by rerouting.
- Gävleborg. Varied capacity; Ellevio is a direct regional-network customer of Svenska kraftnät there. Near-term assessments in eastern Hälsingland are affected by planned network changes, operational re-routing and limited redundancy. Capacity is expected to improve with Svenska kraftnät’s NordSyd lines and the Inlandspaketet (400 kV lines in 2030 and 2033-2034, per the page) and Ellevio’s own regional reinforcements in eastern Hälsingland (2026-2031).
- Bohuslän. Seasonal variation and island and coastal structure make capacity differ within the area; Ellevio is again a customer of Vattenfall Eldistribution, which is a customer of Svenska kraftnät. Growing withdrawal demand comes from housing, services, small industry, shopping centres and also data centres, while requests and applications are mainly for injection from energy storage and solar.
- Shared message. Larger connections are assessed case by case against the capacity of Ellevio’s regional network, Vattenfall’s regional network where relevant, Svenska kraftnät’s transmission grid and the timing of planned reinforcements, and the forecasts depend on connection requests still to arrive and are followed up continuously.
