Vattenfall Eldistribution Kapacitetskarta (2026)

Source Updated 2026-10-07 Cited by 2 pages

Vattenfall Eldistribution‘s press release (9 Jun 2026) launching the first version of its capacity map, together with the text of the map’s own web page as fetched in October 2026. It is the first DSO capacity map in the wiki. The map itself and its FAQ are script-built and were not captured, so only the descriptive text is recorded here.

Key points

  • What it is. A web map giving “an overall indication” of where there may be available capacity for connections in Vattenfall Eldistribution’s grid. It is described as new in its kind and as a first version that will be developed with industry and other stakeholders; users can send feedback.
  • Who it is for and what it covers. Mainly a support for someone who early on wants to see whether an area could suit new consumption, production or storage before sending a formal application. The press release gives the size ranges as consumption 1-50 MW, production 1-120 MW and energy storage 1-50 MW; the web page gives storage as 1-40 MW. The two texts differ and the source does not say which is current.
  • Granularity. The press release says the map shows a snapshot for individual nodes in the company’s regionnät (regional grid), with a first indication of when a connection might become possible. The web page adds that exact positions of the stations are not shown.
  • Not a decision. Both texts say the map does not give notice of actually available capacity: it is an assessment of the present situation that can change quickly, and a connection decision and timetable come only after a formal request. The web page says a request to the local network concerned is always needed for a correct answer, and that the information is not binding.
  • Data sources (web page). The layer for local-network areas takes its base data from Ei’s information on network concessions for areas (updated 2025-11-04), supplemented by Vattenfall Eldistribution with ownership; the Svenska kraftnät layer comes from the geodata portal administered by Lantmäteriet (updated 2026-02-02).
  • Stated background. The press release’s fact box says capacity maps stem from the information requirements in the EU electricity market directive, which says member states should publish a map showing available capacity in the grid, and that they are meant to help investors and others see where in the country there may be capacity for production, consumption and storage. The press release does not mention the Swedish ordinance (27 a § förordning 2022:585) or whether the map is the company’s way of meeting it.
