“Webinar: Effekthandel Väst — vi startar upp säsongen,” Göteborg Energi / Mölndal Energi / NODES, September 2026. A season-kickoff webinar (auto-transcribed recording) ahead of Effekthandel Väst‘s sixth season, starting 1 November. Speakers: Gunilla (Göteborg Energi), Darijan Jelica (Mölndal Energi; the Flexia Consulting affiliation comes from other sources, not the recording), Frida Johander (NODES, project manager (“projektledare”)).
What’s new for the season
New product: LFM-H. Distinct from the LongFlex→LFM-P rename below — a genuinely new, shorter-notice availability product. Reservation announced D-2 09:00; suppliers respond by 18:30 the same day; activation runs D-1 09:00 through H-2. Caveat from the Q&A: bids may be placed by both sides and the exact answer timing was still being settled (the presenters themselves noted the product is mid-development); the final position given was that all LFM-H notices come at 18:30 D-2. Contrasted explicitly with LFM-P (multi-month contracts, more advance planning) as suited to single-hour, closer-to-real-time capacity needs. Göteborg Energi tested it in the 2025/26 season; Mölndal plans to test it for the first time this coming season.
Product renames (explicitly framed as national standardization work, harmonising how Swedish DSOs procure flexibility; the SWITCH link is this wiki’s inference, not stated in the recording): ShortFlex → LFM-E, LongFlex → LFM-P. Affects the graphical platform interface only — existing API integrations keep the old names, no integration changes required.
Minimum bid size raised: 0.05 MW (50 kW) → 0.1 MW (100 kW), aligning with the national standard.
Activation-bid opening window extended: bids for a given delivery hour can now be placed starting 7 days ahead (was 6).
LFM-E (ex-ShortFlex) matching changed from continuous matching to two fixed auction points: “upphandling 1” resolves D-1 09:00 (day-ahead result); unmatched bids remain available for “upphandling 2,” continuous up to H-2 before delivery.
Pre-season testing, new this year: during October, NODES will run test call-offs against every registered resource to verify the technical signal chain (dispatch, acknowledgement, delivery) before the season proper starts — applies to all delivery types.
Two platform features: an automated “Zero Baseline” method (selectable in portfolio settings; previously required manually uploading an all-zero-value file per resource) and address-based resource registration (previously required exact map coordinates).
Scale and season-5 recap
Combined tradeable capacity across Göteborg and Mölndal now exceeds 70 MW. Resource-type evolution since the market’s 2021/22 launch: from 1–2 manually-operated industrial resources to today’s mix including water-pumping actors, reserve generators, battery storage, aggregator-pooled portfolios, and thermal resources (cold storage, ice rinks).
Mölndal Energi’s own reported V2025/26 product split: 269 MWh availability via LongFlex, 248 MWh activation via ShortFlex, 280 MWh via MaxUsage — matching the NODES public market statistics retrieved 2026-10-10 almost exactly (LongFlex 269.3, ShortFlex 248.3, MaxUsage 281.3 MWh, Nov 2025–Feb 2026; Source - NODES Public Market Statistics Sweden (2026)). Described as a record season (cold winter, sustained high demand) for Mölndal.
Data-quality flag — Göteborg’s spoken activation figures not used. Gunilla (Göteborg Energi) stated, live and un-scripted: ~4,115 MWh availability (LongFlex), ~115 MWh ShortFlex activation, ~605 MWh MaxUsage activation, ~704 MWh total activated. The ShortFlex figure (~115 MWh) is consistent with the wiki’s existing portal-sourced 114 MWh. The MaxUsage and total figures are not: the NODES public market statistics (retrieved 2026-10-10) give 1,101 MWh MaxUsage / ~1,216 MWh ShortFlex + MaxUsage for Göteborg — roughly 70–80% higher than the webinar’s spoken numbers (MaxUsage ~82%, total ~72%). LongFlex is much closer: NODES gives 4,517 MWh against the spoken ~4,115, about 10% higher. Given this is an auto-transcribed live webinar (spoken numbers are a known ASR failure mode) versus a directly-sourced portal figure, the wiki keeps the portal figure and does not adopt the webinar’s MaxUsage/total numbers. Flagged as an open discrepancy, not resolved in either direction.
Relevance to this wiki
- Effekthandel Väst: the primary update target — LFM-H, the LFM-E/LFM-P renames, the minimum-bid change, and the >70 MW capacity figure all update the page’s Products and Comparison sections.
- NODES: the LFM-H product and bid-size/window changes are platform-level (NODES-wide), not Effekthandel-Väst-specific — worth reflecting in the platform’s own product-design coverage too.
