Lag (2026:1283) om elektriska ledningar — the new Swedish act holding the grid-concession (nätkoncession) and electric-lines rules previously in the 1997 ellagen. SFS 2026:1283, Klimat- och näringslivsdepartementet, utfärdad 2026-06-18, in force 1 January 2027. The companion to Elmarknadslag (2026:1281); together they replace the ellagen. Key claims / what’s new
- Concession rules get their own law. The nätkoncession provisions (concession för område / för linje, scope, conditions, validity, omprövning, transfer/revocation) move from the ellagen into this dedicated act — separating rules for the physical infrastructure from the market rules in the Elmarknadslag. Mostly minor changes from the previous ellagen chapters.
- Notable change: the rule on choosing between an overhead line (luftledning) and an underground/sea cable (mark- eller sjökabel) should now apply also when a line concession (nätkoncession för linje) is amended or re-examined (ändring/omprövning), not only at initial granting.
- Also covers electric lines drawn within road, rail, metro, tram, or waterway areas (ch. 9).
- In force 1 January 2027; full application depends on forthcoming government förordningar and updated Ei föreskrifter.
