Svenska kraftnät’s own hourly reserve-market data for Sweden, exported by the maintainer from Mimer (Svk’s publication portal) on 2026-10-02, plus a test fetch from Svk’s open data portal (data.svk.se, CKAN API, no token, licence CC-BY-4.0). The Mimer exports are the primary source for the Swedish figures on the wiki’s Nordic battery-revenue analysis; the two JSON files are February and March 2026 rows of the portal’s FCR dataset, fetched with curl only to test it. This page records what the files contain, how Svk’s published monthly figures are built, and how far the files reproduce Svk’s monthly reports.
What the exports contain
| Export | Content | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
FCR*.csv (three files) | Hourly FCR-N, FCR-D up and FCR-D down price (EUR/MW) and total volume (MW), with volume per zone SE1–SE4 and DK2 | 2023-01-01 to 2026-10-03 23:00 (32,927 hours, continuous) |
AFRR*.csv | Hourly aFRR capacity price and volume per zone, up and down | 2023-01-01 to 2026-10-03 |
MFRR 24/25/26.csv | Hourly mFRR capacity price and volume per zone, up and down | 2024-01-01 to 2026-10-03 (2023 not exported) |
MFRR eam.csv | 15-minute mFRR energy-activation market: activated volume (columns SA and DA) and price per zone, up and down | 2026-01-01 to 2026-10-02 only |
- Format: semicolon-separated, decimal commas, a BOM, and a trailing
Summarow that must be dropped. Zones are writtenSN1–SN4, read here as SE1–SE4. Times are CET/CEST. - The rows for 2–3 October 2026 are results already known for the coming day, and October is a partial month.
How the Mimer FCR price is defined
Svk’s description of the FCR export (translated): the published prices are marginal prices in EUR/MW on procured capacity for FCR-N, FCR-D up and FCR-D down from Swedish and Danish balance responsible parties. Prices and volumes are shown for the chosen market (Totalt, Upphandling 1, Upphandling 2) and exclude trade between TSOs. For “Totalt” the price is the volume-weighted mean of the marginal prices in auction 1 and auction 2, and the volume the summed procured volume of the two auctions.
Consequences:
- The hourly price in the export is already weighted across the two auctions.
- Svk’s monthly mean is a plain average of the hourly prices. A volume-weighted mean over the month fits Svk’s reports worse (June 2026 FCR-D up: 5.72 against Svk’s 5.9, while the plain hourly mean gives 5.93).
- The FCR volumes are the common market with DK2, so the Swedish and DK2 FCR prices are one series.
How far the exports reproduce Svk’s monthly reports
- FCR: for February–August 2026 the hourly means match the figures in Source - Svk Månadsrapport Balansmarknader Februari 2026 to Source - Svk Månadsrapport Balansmarknader Augusti 2026 within 0.1 EUR/MW for FCR-N, FCR-D up and FCR-D down (February FCR-D down is not stated as a price in the report). The 2025 comparison values in the July and August 2026 reports are reproduced exactly: July 2025 20.91, 5.24 and 2.42; August 2025 31.8, 7.2 and 4.8.
- January 2026 report (Source - Svk Månadsrapport Balansmarknader Januari 2026): its FCR means (23.3, 6.8, 1.2), FCR hourly extremes, aFRR CM ranges (5.8–11.6 up, 9.3–11.6 down) and mFRR CM ranges (19.2–22.7 up, 1.8–12.1 down) agree with the series built from these exports and Energinet’s aFRR dataset.
- 2025 monthly reports (Source - Svk Månadsrapporter FCR 2025, Source - Svk Månadsrapporter mFRR EAM 2025): all 28 FCR monthly means Svk states for March–December 2025 match the series from these exports to two decimals; the April 2025 EAM volumes (about 70 GWh up, 101 down) agree with the EAM series (71 and 101). Svk’s August 2024 to January 2025 FCR reports (Source - Svk Månadsrapporter FCR 2024) state the same price basis break as here and give Svk’s view that marginal pricing together with a more diverse set of actors lowered prices: volume-weighted averages under pay-as-bid to January 2024, volume-weighted marginal prices from February 2024.
- FCR period averages do not reproduce. The July report’s January–July comparison (FCR-N 30.38 to 20.75, FCR-D up 5.72 to 4.95, FCR-D down 7.05 to 4.24) differs from the averages built from these files (means of the monthly means, 2025: 26.4, 5.6, 7.04; 2026: 22.6, 5.2, 3.2; plain hourly means 26.5, 5.6, 7.1 and 22.5, 5.2, 3.3); only the 2025 FCR-D down figure matches. The basis of those period averages is unknown, so the wiki uses the monthly values.
- mFRR capacity: the simple mean of hourly zone prices matches the zone figures in the March–August 2026 reports in 45 of 48 zone-direction-month cases within 0.15 EUR/MW (largest difference 0.38). The January–July 2026 volume-weighted mean (up 13.8, down 14.9) agrees with the report’s 13 and 15; for 2025 the file gives 42 and 37 against the report’s 39 and 36.
- mFRR energy activation: January–July 2026 activated down volume is 633 GWh, exactly the report’s figure; activated up volume is 372 GWh against the report’s 330 GWh (unexplained). Prices in the file are absolute prices, not the spread over spot that the reports give.
- aFRR capacity does not reproduce. In 2026 the export shows almost no upward volume (for example none in SE1 or SE3 in July), while Svk’s reports give July up prices of 3.0 to 8.3 EUR/MW per zone. The aFRR capacity market is the common Nordic market and, per Balancing Markets, most of Sweden’s requirement is imported, so the export (Swedish-BSP volume and its price, zero when nothing is procured) cannot give the zone price. The aFRR export is therefore not used. Svk’s zone prices are reproduced by Energinet’s Nordic aFRR capacity dataset instead (Source - Energinet aFRR Capacity Market Data (2026)); a check of the data portal’s aFRR dataset for July 2026 shows the same limitation as the Mimer export (rows only for hours with local procurement).
What the series show
Annual means of the monthly means, EUR/MW per hour, wiki arithmetic (2026 is January–August):
| FCR, Sweden (common market with DK2) | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FCR-N | 66.0 | 47.7 | 26.8 | 22.1 |
| FCR-D up | 38.3 | 10.5 | 6.1 | 5.6 |
| FCR-D down | 70.2 | 27.2 | 5.9 | 3.2 |
| mFRR capacity, up / down | 2024 | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE1 | 11.4 / 17.1 | 20.1 / 35.4 | 9.3 / 21.3 |
| SE2 | 12.1 / 15.7 | 24.0 / 27.8 | 9.6 / 14.7 |
| SE3 | 14.2 / 15.4 | 40.9 / 19.3 | 11.3 / 2.9 |
| SE4 | 16.1 / 47.9 | 51.4 / 19.0 | 21.8 / 2.9 |
FCR prices fell every year; mFRR up prices peaked in 2025 and fell back in 2026. September 2026 is available but not in these means (FCR-N 14.9, FCR-D up 2.7, FCR-D down 2.1).
Exchange rate
Mimer also publishes the daily EUR/SEK rate that Svk uses for converting ancillary-service prices (“Växelkurs för stödtjänster”, in use since 1 March 2021; exchange-rate-2026.csv, January to 4 September 2026). Monthly means of the daily rate in 2026: January 10.70, February 10.63, March 10.75, April 10.85, May 10.86, June 10.95, July 11.05, August 11.02 SEK/EUR. The Price-of-Flexibility Ladder — Why Capital Flows to FCR, Not Local Markets converts at these rates.
Reading the numbers with care
- Price basis changes on 1 February 2024. Mimer’s FCR history page (covering 2021 to January 2024, the source of
FCR 23-24.csv) describes its prices as average prices in EUR/MW on procured capacity from Swedish and Danish balance responsible parties, with the market “Totalt” defined as the sum of procurement in auctions 1 and 2 plus any D-0 trade (bilateral trade on unavailability, not reported separately), and excluding trade between TSOs. From February 2024 the current page publishes marginal prices, volume-weighted across the two auctions. The data portal’s FCR dataset states the same break. The 2023 and January 2024 FCR values are therefore averages and not like-for-like with later months; the size of the step cannot be judged from the files (FCR-N 45.3 in January 2024 and 48.2 in February 2024 is a monthly move, not a measure of the break). - The portal’s FCR dataset stopped updating on 14 April 2026, the day Svk’s July report says FCR moved to the Nordic MMS platform; Mimer continues. The portal marks five datasets as no longer updated (FCR capacity market, FCR bid volumes, FCR aggregated volumes, FCR activated energy and aFRR activated energy); aFRR and mFRR capacity are updated daily.
- The portal API: open CKAN
datastore_search, up to 32,000 rows per request, the SQL endpoint disabled, and a request to filter at the source and not poll needlessly (API guide of 25 June 2026).
