Kraftringen Nät Nätutvecklingsplan 2027-2036 (Samrådsversion)

Source Updated 2026-10-04 Cited by 9 pages

Kraftringen Nät AB, “Nätutvecklingsplan 2027–2036” (preliminär samrådsversion), 2026. Kraftringen’s second DNDP cycle, following EIFS 2024:1 (and amendment 2026:4) — the successor to Kraftringen’s first DNDP (2025–2034, the company’s first-ever mandatory network development plan).

Company and grid overview

Kraftringen’s grid is organized into 8 delområden (network areas, each holding its own area concession) totaling 2,500 km²: a Skåne cluster (Lund, Lomma, Ringsjö/Eslöv-Hörby, Höör, Klippan, Björnekulla/Åstorp) and a separate Kalmar/Blekinge pocket (Torsås, Hallabro) — geographically split, not contiguous. ~103,000 consumption subscriptions across the areas (Lund alone: 43,700). 9,400 km of lines (3,400 km at 10–130 kV, 6,000 km at 400 V low voltage), 2,700 nätstationer. E.ON‘s regional grid is the overlying network for every delområde — 17 connection points, mostly at 130 kV.

What’s new versus the first DNDP — a concrete DNO→DSO progression

The first DNDP (2025–2034) recorded Kraftringen’s first-ever villkorat avtal, just signed, and no local flexibility market. This plan documents two concrete steps forward:

A first local flexibility market, planned for 2027 in delområde Lund. Purpose: reduce winter consumption peaks in eastern Lund that risk exceeding capacity limits in the overlying E.ON regional grid — expected to bind roughly 100 hours/year on cold winter days. A similar constraint is identified in Ringsjö (around Hörby), also under active discussion with E.ON to clarify the technical limits and timing. Villkorade avtal are in active or planned use across all delområden (Table 16: “Ja” for all 8 named areas) as the parallel, rules-based tool alongside the market.

An ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) rollout, starting 2027, successive across all delområden. Explicitly named as advanced operational and decision support, intended to: (1) give better real-time knowledge of current grid state and available capacity for more efficient use of existing lines/transformers/stations; (2) analyze where and when flexibility delivers the most value, supporting more effective use of flexibility services and villkorade avtal; (3) produce more precise assessments of where and when reinforcement is actually needed, prioritizing the highest-value investments. This is a primary-source, same-year corroboration of the argument made in the DNO→DSO practitioner essay (which used Kraftringen’s own driftledare/driftingenjör rotation as its example) — an independent regulatory filing making the same ADMS-for-active-grid-management case the essay argues in the abstract.

“SKN” identity confirmed: it’s Skånska Energi Nät’s own official network-area designation — a separate, independently-owned DSO, confirmed directly in that company’s own DNDP. It does not match any of Kraftringen’s 8 named delområden (LUN/LMA/RSJ/HOR/KPN/BJK/TOS/HLB) because it isn’t one — Skånska Energi’s own DNDP places its area mainly in Lund municipality and also in Kävlinge and Eslöv, and its 2 MW (2027–2031) and 5 MW (2032–2036) flexibility need in its own Table 6 matches the SKN row here. What’s still unexplained: why a neighboring, independently-owned company’s area appears as a row in Kraftringen’s own flexibility-need table at all — neither company’s DNDP states a coordination arrangement between them.

Capacity assessment methodology

Uses the same A/B/C kapacitetsläge framework as other Swedish DNDPs (already documented in this wiki via E.ON’s and Vattenfall’s DNDPs) — no methodological departure. The document does state an aggregate investment figure: ~430 Mkr/year invested in recent years, rising to a planned ~3,400 Mkr total for 2027–2036 — alongside the per-project tables by delområde (Tables 8–14).

Relevance to this wiki

  • Kraftringen Nät (new entity page): primary update target for all of the above.
  • Distribution System Operator: the “What DSO means in the control room” section cites the LinkedIn essay’s Kraftringen example — this source is the primary-document confirmation of that same ADMS rollout, worth citing alongside it.
  • Source - Från DNO till DSO LinkedIn Artikel (2026): same company, same year — worth a cross-reference note there too.
  • Swedish local flexibility market landscape: a new market (2027, Lund) to add alongside SWITCH markets, Effekthandel Väst, Götene Flex, and Nätkraft Borås.
